Mt. Shasta

I returned home from our mini vacation last Sunday and I am ready to go again because seven or was it eight days just isn't enough and it is taking me a week to unpack. We had so much fun with one another, one of the coolest things happened on this trip, we visited the cafe from the famous movie, at least to me it was famous, Bagdad Cafe. I was so excited that I actually could not stop smiling while I snapped pictures and drank lemonade. Then it was on to Las Vegas and our favorite hotel, Bellagio, wow, I am missing the yummy dinners that I had there. We love Bellagio and we always have a fabulous room on the upper floors with a full lake view and it is important for me to have a room with a view of the strip. We were there for three days of walking around and seeing the sights and we even got to see the Musical Play, "The Lion King," and it was alright but I would have preferred to see a Cirque Du Soleil production. We spent the last three days of our trip in the beautiful mystical Mt. Shasta City which is at the foot of the awe inspiring Mt. Shasta. From the minute the mountain comes into view from highway 5, you can't take your eyes off of it, never mind that it dominates the landscape, it is magical. Mt. Shasta is a magnetic vortex that summons people from all over the world and they come in droves to walk her/his beautiful slopes. The mountain is surrounded in mystery from, UFO's to Lemurians living in a city inside the mountain. There are stories about ascended masters who have appeared on the mountain and little people who have lead campers to their city on the mountain. We have seen strange lights hovering over the top of the mountain at night and the magnificent clouds formations that form over the mountain. The energy of the Mt. Shasta affects all of the surrounding area for miles. There are waterfalls with entities around them and lava tubes that are portals for inter-dimensional travel. Just spending time in the natural beauty of this powerful area is priceless. Mt. Shasta city is the perfect place to pick a personal crystal and to get a reading on the crystal itself in order to find out why this particular crystal attracted you to it. All in all, it was a wonder filled trip and the mountain informed me that I need to visit her at least once year if not twice because she has knowledge to pass to me so, I will return as soon as possible.

Hipsters

I asked my husband how interested he was in being a full time hipster? "Do you want a little or a lot, or just a balance," was my question to him because I am starting to get a lot of invitations to shows, art gallery openings, and even a plays. So if we wanted to go full out, we could literally be out and about everyday but I don't know that we could keep up that kind of pace. Tonight we went out to watch our daughter do her thing in a sabar dance class and if I must say so myself, she is the best! But back to my point, we are trying to find the happy medium, we need to be out and about so we can feed the artist in us, and then maybe we can each get back to our painting. So we decided to go for the healthy balance as not to wear ourselves out. We don't want to go out just to be out, if we are not fully engaged in the activity, it isn't worth it. We are not out and about just to be seen by others we are out gathering energy to carry back to hummingbird cottage where our creativity will flourish.

I got it in the bag

When I was a kid growing up, I was the oldest of five girls and one boy. Both of my parents were there, so , that means I lived in an apartment with seven other people. I rarely had a moment to myself and I definitely didn't have my own space. As a result, I had several ways of creating my own space but one of my main ways was through the use of my bag, purse, back pack, my world. My bag/purse became my way of having private space, it contained my magic, it carried the things that I needed to transform any environment into my own personal space. My sisters and I walked around the house carrying our bags because they contained our personal mojo. We often admired each others bags and made comments like, "Your purse looks like fun," because we just knew that inside of those bags, each one of us carried our personal totems that could transform time and space for us, all we had to do was open them and reach inside. All of these feelings about my bag came back to me when I was in Peet's the other day. I looked around and saw all of these individuals sitting at tables, alone, except usually their bags had its own chair and the table was filled with all of the personal possessions that helped them establish their space in this public gathering spot. These bags carried phones, ipods, computers, journals, sketchbooks, and much, much more. These bags/purses/back packs make it possible for people to go into public spaces and feel so at home because, they surrounded by objects that carry their personal mana. My bag carries my magic and I am rarely without it!

Adornment

I saw a video on youtube the other days that feature women that lived on the desert and they had a very physical life and they were fully adorned from head to toe. Rings, bells, bangles, scarves and other beautiful things.  These women work very hard everyday and still they wear their jewelry, so why is it that american women are always asking me if my jewelry gets in the way?  They make jokes about how they think I have on way too much, but by who's standard?  There is a world of women out there who have lot more jewelry on than I do and their lives a filled with very difficult physical labor.  I am a woman of leisure, kind of like Queen Elizabeth and she wears her jewels so why would I do anything  less.  Yes you guessed it, I am a Queen and I act accordingly.  All hail the Queen, and now I am doing my Queenly wave to all of you,  wearing a ring or two on every finger.
